The Worst Part Of The 10 Best MCU Movies
8. Tony Stark's Womanizing - Iron Man
The very first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie is to this day, even after 28 subsequent releases, one of the best the franchise can boast. Robert Downey Jr. kicked off the whole thing in spectacular fashion, and there genuinely isn’t a lot in the movie that fans don’t universally love.
There are just two main criticisms, both of which come with the benefit of hindsight, and both for very different reasons. Though looking back seeing Terrance Howard next to Tony Stark certainly makes you wish for Don Cheadle, it is Tony himself that demonstrates the worst part of the movie.
The very point of Tony’s story is that he was an egotistical and unlikeable man before he became Iron Man. He was still charming, and though he wasn't supposed to be particularly likable to begin with, he still had to connect with audiences. Fans know he’s not perfect, but looking back his womanizing ways really have not aged well.
Before his relationship with Pepper Potts, Tony was incredibly disrespectful to women, and essentially used them and treated them like garbage. He thought of sleeping with women like collecting trophies in a way, and though those days are thankfully far behind him, it’s impossible to forget that that’s what he was like for a long, long time.
