Thor: 10 Times The MCU Movies Were Better Than The Comics

Thor has lead the Asgardians into countless wars over the centuries. He has thwarted thousands of monsters and godlings. He has ventured into every conceivable realm to vanquish those who threaten his home. He may not be as smart as Loki but Thor's experience on the battlefield has allowed him to become a genius tactician.

However, the MCU incarnation Thor is drastically different. Not only does he act more like a buffoon, he rarely strategises in battle and instead, charges in, having little understanding of the threat. Because Thor is one of the most iconic Avengers, depicting him like an idiot could've been a really bad idea.

Luckily, this decision works for a number of reasons. Firstly, nearly every person in the Avengers is a genius. They're not just "pretty smart". Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Hulk, and several others are among the most intelligent people on the planet. Depicting Thor as a beef-head rather than a master strategist is a nice way to mix up the group's dynamic.

Also, the way Thor leaps at Surtur, Hulk, Thanos, or Hela to protect his friends despite having no idea how powerful they are, makes him come across as compassionate and heroic rather than foolish.
