Thor: 10 Times The MCU Movies Were Better Than The Comics
6. He's Hilarious
Marvel heroes are renowned for joking around. Spider-Man spends entire battles chastising criminals. Iron Man hurls out a snarky comment every time he opens his mouth. Deadpool is... just Deadpool.
Even though there are plenty of funny superheroes in the world of comics, Thor isn't one of them. Don't get me wrong. Thor is no stranger at making wisecracks in the heat of battle but then again, so does every Marvel superhero. (Even the Punisher is prone to making one-liners every now and again.) Although Thor can be funny in the comics, he doesn't have a reputation for it.
But in the films, Thor isn't just funny - he's one of the most hilarious characters in the entire MCU franchise. Although this wasn't really the case in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, the filmmakers realised Chris Hemsworth was a comedy goldmine and so urged him to embrace his sillier side in Thor: Ragnarok and the Avengers films. This decision gave birth to some of best moments in the MCU including "Get help," "Is he though?" and "It'll only kill me if I die."
