Taika Waititi played a minor role in Thor: Ragnarok as Korg, but we're sure that not even he could have imagined what a breakout star the character would become. Fans instantly gravitated towards the Kiki-sounding Kronan, and his brief appearance in Avengers: Endgame was every bit as memorable.

Unsurprisingly, Korg is set to return in Thor: Love and Thunder, and the filmmaker intends on devoting some time to his origin story this time. "We do touch on Korg's culture," he told one fan. "Where he's from...if you look in the comics about Kronans, it's an interesting thing about where they come from."

Thor destroyed one of them with a single blow from Mjolnir in Thor: The Dark World, and Korg talked about trying and failing to start a revolution on his home planet in Ragnarok, so there's clearly a lot of history there to explore. Something we won't be delving into, however, is his romantic life.

The comic book version of Korg is gay, but when Waititi was asked if he'll have a love interest in the next movie, he said no because, apparently, he was "deeply in love and lost that love along the line." He added that, "He doesn’t feel brave enough to find love again."
