Thor: Love And Thunder - 9 Villains Christian Bale Could Play

5. Mangog

Christian Bale Mephisto
Marvel Comics

Powerful, furious, ugly. These are all words that perfectly describe Mangog. He is the single most powerful villain on this list, and there's a decent chance he'll appear in the film. Why? Because he's gone head-to-head with Jane Foster's God of Thunder before.

In the olden days of his kingship, Odin "destroyed" an entire race by imprisoning them inside Mangog and sealing him away deep beneath Asgard. Essentially, Odin used a spell to make Mangog a living prison for his entire race. Thusly, it is the combined anger, resentment, and hatred of a billion billion beings that fuels Mangog. As long as hatred exists, so too shall Mangog.

He has the strength, endurance, speed, and durability of his entire race, which is to say that he's practically invincible, and he is exponentially stronger than Thor -- or even Odin -- has ever been.

In the film, Mangog could represent a sort of warning to the latest ruler of Asgard, as well as the newly minted thunder god -- take heed how you rule, and be careful how you build your legacy. Otherwise, you'll end up with a Mangog. To quote Baron Mordo, "The bill comes due."
