Thor: Love And Thunder - 9 Villains Christian Bale Could Play

3. Cul Borson, AKA The Serpent

Christian Bale Mephisto
Marvel Comics

As you may have noticed, Thor has had some, well... let's just say, family issues.

His brother proved to be the most consistent pain in his ass, but he also had to contend with his sister, who -- let's not forget -- he didn't even know existed until she showed up out of the blue and IMMEDIATELY tried to murder him.

Well, you can add his old uncle Cul to the list. The brother of Odin, Cul Borson is the god of fear. In the Fear Itself event, he created a series of magical hammers -- not unlike Mjolnir -- and spread them across the planet to sew chaos and fear. This could potentially explain just how Jane Foster came into possession of a superpowered hammer.

It could also provide a challenge to Valkyrie, what with the long-forgotten brother of Asgard's late King Odin coming to claim the throne for himself.

What's more, Cul can transform into a giant serpent, adding an additional level of physical danger to any prospective fight. In Nordic legends, it is the Midgard Serpent that ultimately kills Thor. Could we see Cul fulfill the prophecy and end Thor's life, just as Thor passes the torch to Jane Foster?
