Finally, Thor: Love and Thunder leaves audiences with one parting promise: Thor Will Return.

Now, this stinger isn't entirely unique to this movie. So many MCU flicks over the years have finished on the promise that the characters will be returning for more adventures. However, it's worthy of note here because Thor's (and actor Chris Hemsworth's) role in the MCU has been a little bit muddy over the years.

Where other Avenger OGs have begun hanging up the spandex, with the likes of Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson all effectively moving on, the future of Hemsworth's Thor hasn't been as cut and dry. No other superhero in this franchise has made it to four solo movies, and while it's still unclear as to whether he'll forge on to make that five, we do know we'll be seeing him in one more MCU movie.

Though some fans hypothesised that Love and Thunder would feature the final passing of the torch, we now know there's at least one more adventure on the cards.
