Even with Loki and Ultron (yes, he's great, shut up), Marvel still has something of a villain problem. Over the course of the entire MCU, their agenda to push the mythology and brand of the heroes has meant we've never really seen enough truly memorable villains.

But surely having Cate Blanchett involved would arrest that slide? Surely she'd be a legitimately great enough actor to offer a baddie who can finally stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Loki?

Thankfully, it seems she deserves a lot of praise, with multiple reactions specifically mentioning her part in making the film work. So that's something to be very happy about.
