Thor: Ragnarok Trailer - 9 Big Questions We're Left With

7. Who Is Hela Referring To?

It's not apparent upon first viewing the trailer, but if you listen closely to Hela's line "Asgard... is dead", it clearly sounds like two different bits of dialogue that have been spliced together.

This idea is given even more weight when you consider that we don't actually see her say "Asgard", in full view of camera. So who is dead?

One scenario that immediately comes to mind is that Hela could be trying to take over Asgard, and is telling its people that their king, Odin, and his son, Thor, are both dead, in the hopes of fooling them into accepting her as a new ruler.

We see her destroy Thor's hammer and she could be the one that sends him jetting off to Sakaar, possibly with Loki and Odin in tow. So, she thinks they're out of the way (or maybe even thinks they're dead) and heads to Asgard to claim the now-empty throne.

Or, maybe Odin genuinely dies. Maybe this is at the end of the film (though it feels like it will be in the first half) and Loki dies. We have so little information to go on that it's impossible to find a solid answer.
