Tom Holland's Movies Ranked Worst To Best
7. The Lost City Of Z
Another critically acclaimed but financially disappointing historical movie, The Lost City Of Z (which is pronounced Zed, or 'correctly' as we British people know) is a sprawling epic that covers more than thirty years of the life of Percy Fawcett, explorer. Charlie Hunnam (of Sons of Anarchy fame) leads the film with Tom playing his son Jack in the last sequences of the movie (set nearly thirty years after the initial expedition).
In a grand narrative that tracks from the trenches of the First World War into the depths of the Amazonian Jungle, we follow Fawcett as his obsession with finding the Lost City traverses the globe and his entire life. Beautifully shot and taking a gradual pace, we see Percy learn about the Lost City while performing an expedition for the Royal Geographical Society. At first he dismisses it as simple myth, but as the years pass he becomes more and more convinced that it must exist and that he must find it.
Great performances from Hunnam, Holland, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller make this a film that all epic fans should embrace.
