Tomorrow Never Dies: 007 Reasons Why It's The Best James Bond Yet

003. Commander Bond Returns

Commander Bond For the first time in about 20 years or so, James Bond is shown off in his official Royal Navy uniform. It's so easy to forget that 007 actually started in the British Navy, and has a rank besides that of his 00 status. We haven't seen the more ceremonial side of Bond since Roger Moore's tenure, and it's been way too long. Seeing Bond in uniform is a good reminder that there's a man behind all of the mystique and the more human side of Bond starts to show through. It'd be awesome if we could explore this through the confines of an actual full length film, but for now this serves as a stepping stone to invite the audience to start to accept the man behind the number as someone more human than we're used to.
