Tomorrow Never Dies: 007 Reasons Why It's The Best James Bond Yet

002. Jack Wade Returns

Jack Wade Introduced in Goldeneye, Jack Wade has filled the void that Felix Leiter left after he was last seen in License to Kill. Wade's boorish yet friendly American charm is the perfect foil to Bond's suave British nature, and we saw this in Goldeneye. We also saw Jack's resourcefulness as a CIA agent, which also shines through in this particular film. What's funnier is the fact that the role is filled by former Bond villain Joe Don Baker, who plays the down home American to a tee. He gels well with Brosnan, and he brings levity to the proceedings without cheapening the film like most of the Moore gags would back in his heyday. Jack Wade helps strike the balance between Comedy and Action, and it makes all the difference.
