Toy Story 4: Everything We Know So Far

5. The Directors

The man responsible for bring the toys to life in the first place, John Lasseter, is stepping back behind the camera for this one. He's been involved with Pixar since its early beginnings, and has overseen every single film they've made as an executive producer, and has worked as the chief creative officer for both Pixar and Disney since the latter purchased the former back in 2006. To say he's responsible for bringing Disney back to life would be an understatement. His directorial efforts are a bit hit and miss however: he directed Toy Story 1 & 2, which are among the best work they've ever done, but also the middling Cars and A Bug's Life, and Cars 2, which is the worst Pixar film to date. On-board to co-direct is Josh Cooley, who'll be making his feature-length directorial debut. He's worked in a variety of roles on a number of Pixar films over the years, with storyboard work on the likes of The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, and Brave, while also providing voices for a couple as well. Most recently, and the biggest cause of optimism, he co-wrote this year's masterful Inside Out, which stands as the best Pixar film since Up.
