Transformers 5: 10 Changes That Need To Happen

9. There Needs To Be Less Focus On Humans And More On The Transformers

What's the name of this series again? Oh that's right, it's Transformers, not Humans. For a film series that's about building-sized, sentient robots from another planet, the Transformers films sure do have a lot of human drama that is completely unnecessary. We're not saying that the films should have NO human characters at all, but when past scenes include the main human protagonist, Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) getting his first girlfriend, starting college or his first proper job, the resounding thoughts of most audiences is likely to be a big "who cares?". The attempts of trying to splice robot action with human emotion has been admirable so far, but this isn't a film series that people watch for it's emotional and heartwarming human interaction - there's already plenty of that elsewhere. It's completely understandable that Bay wanted human characters present so that the audience had something to relate to, but there's so much fluff and bad writing for said chracters, that most people end up hating the character they're supposed to like more than the bad guys. When said baddies are relentlessly evil robots that want to enslave Earth and all of its inhabitants, that's saying a lot.
