Transformers 5 Wishlist: 10 Things We Want To See

10. A Maximum Runtime Of 140 Minutes

Transformers Age Of Extinction3Paramount PicturesThere's no getting around the fact that the Transformers movie are long, and in some cases, really freaking long. The first clocked in at a sizeable 144 minutes, while Age of Extinction ran for a ridiculous 165 minutes, as was one its most complained-about aspects. Any of us can sit through a near-three-hour movie if the material is right, as with, say, The Dark Knight Rises, but in something as simple and narratively safe as the latest Transformers movie, it has absolutely no justifiable reason to be that long. As such, we're calling for a more reigned-in Transformers 5, one which dispenses with the procedural crap none of us enjoy watching: strip down the "funny" dialogues and scenes that do nothing to move us closer to the awesome explosions, and just focus on shaping scenarios that lead to insane set-pieces. Ideally, a Transformers movie couldn't clock a second over 120 minutes, but given that Bay couldn't make a sub-2-hour movie even if his life depended on it these days, we could probably tolerate up to 140 minutes (which would be about 130 without credits).
