Transformers: Age Of Extinction – 19 Easter Eggs & References

3. General Motors VP Ed Welburn Cameo

Transformers Age Of Extinction Ed WelburnParamount PicturesEd Welburn is the VP of General Motors, and considering how many vehicles Michael Bay has no doubt worked his way through destroying in these movies, it's of little surprise that the have two struck up a fast friendship over the course of the franchise. As repayment for all of his help acquiring vehicles for the series, Bay granted him a cameo appearance in Age of Extinction, though apparently it had started out as something more. Welburn said, "I was originally cast as the head of the C.I.A...But as the movie was developing, Michael recast me in a different role. I actually play myself, Ed Welburn, chief designer of a very special project." Welburn's ultimate presence in the movie as a KSI Executive is ultimately blink-and-you'll-miss-it compared to what was originally planned (presuming that, for some reason, he was going to play Attinger), but it's a cool reference nevertheless.
