Transformers: The Last Knight Review: 5 Ups & 6 Downs
1. Jerrod Carmichael's Incredibly Annoying Character
Jerrod Carmichael appears in the movie as Cade's assistant Jimmy, a comic relief sidekick who, well, isn't very funny. Jimmy spends most of his (mercifully brief) screen time screaming or whining about the absurdity of the situation, and it gets annoying fast.
Sure, it's par the course for the series that every movie has to have at least one infuriating supporting character, and while Jimmy isn't nearly as grating as Sam Witwicky's parents for instance, he's still by far the most irritating aspect of the film.
Also, did he need to adhere to so many black stereotypes, Michael Bay? In a movie that already has blatant black caricature robots that briefly show up for a few minutes?
As terrible as all this sounds, The Last Knight incredibly wasn't all bad, so here's what Bay actually got right...
