7. It's The Year's Most Ridiculous Film

With a plot that apparently involves Nazis fighting Transformers and a back story involving Merlin, King Arthur and a number of historical figures, it's safe to say that The Last Knight is the most ridiculous Transformers movie and, indeed, the most absurd major film to be released in 2017 so far.

Though the film has been mostly panned, there has been some mild, grudging respect for Bay and his army of screenwriters for cobbling together such a mind-blowingly silly plot for a $217 million blockbuster and just rolling with it.

As such there will be no doubt be those who watch the film for some ironic enjoyment, and to that end it sounds like the movie is a barmy success.
