"I’d recap the story here, but it borders on nonsensical, even by Transformers standards." - Den of Geek
"As in Revenge of The Fallen, Dark of The Moon and Age of Extinction, The Last Knight is bogged down in backstory, lacks a real feel for its characters and still can’t find a way to make its robot-on-robot action exhilarating." - Empire

It's a Transformers movie, so of course it's written with all the logic of a 15-year-old hurriedly writing a school essay in the middle of the night on the business end of a Red Bull bender.

Though several reviews did note that the series' customary juvenile "humour" has been toned down significantly, the script has still been torn apart for being staggeringly stupid, confusing and failing to imbue the robot bust-ups with any palpable stakes or audience investment.

With Akiva "Batman & Robin" Goldsman contributing to the script, though, you shouldn't be surprised.
