Ed Dillinger was another character from the first film who sat out the events of the sequel. As the human antagonist who used the MCP to steal Flynn's work and make his way to the top of ENCOM's hierarchy, Dillinger was also represented in the mainframe as the MCP's right hand, Sark (pictured above). After the events of the film, Dillinger was eventually exposed and removed from his position, giving him the proper motivation in Tron 3 to want to reclaim the dignity born from what he stole and lost. Considering, too, that his son was seen as an employee of ENCOM in Legacy and later had a conversation with "Dad" about Sam - included as an Easter egg on Legacy's home release - Dillinger is clearly on the creative team's mind as a man still out there looking to cause trouble decades later.
