Truth Or Dare Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

1. The Performances Aren't Bad At All

Truth Or Dare
Blumhouse

You know what? It would've been easy for the filmmakers to just cast generically attractive, CW-calibre actors and call it a day, but the performances are, for the most part, pretty damn solid.

Lucy Hale in particular gives it her all as protagonist Olivia, and while it's all in the service of a film that doesn't really deserve much actorly effort at all, at least it makes the wretched script a little easier to suffer through.

Then again, if the film had The Room-level acting, perhaps it would've transcended to a whole other level? It's a tough call, but these kids can clearly act for the majority, even if the script's general stupidity does them few favours.
