Truth Or Dare Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

6. It's Unintentionally Hilarious

Truth Or Dare
Blumhouse

You'll probably laugh a lot while watching this movie, but very little of it will be as the filmmakers intended. For starters, the digitally distorted faces that appear whenever a "player" is playing the game look more silly than creepy, making it hard to take the whole conceit remotely seriously.

Then there's the abundance of eye-rollingly awful dialogue, the film's generally nonsensical narrative, and how deathly seriously it takes itself at times.

Bad film aficionados just might have a field day with it in that regard, though as a tense, unsettling horror flick, it abjectly fails in almost every aspect.
