Truth Or Dare Review: 2 Ups & 8 Downs

2. It's Not Scary At All

Truth Or Dare

Though movies such as The Ring, 1408, Insidious and Lights Out have proven that a horror movie doesn't need an R rating to be scary, it's depressing just how little effort is put into making this film remotely atmospheric or even basically suspenseful.

The film is full of jump scares horror fans will see coming a mile away, and most of what passes for creepy stems from people with weird faces staring at the screen, or "Truth or Dare" being written on a wall in an unexpected place.

It's woefully lame and just underlines a production that's desperately trying to cash-in on young teenagers who've only seen one or two horror movies in their lives.
