Back in January, Blumhouse announced that they were developing an adaptation of the hit comic book series The Exorcism at 1600 Penn.

The original story from Hannah Rose May is a supernatural thriller set in the White House as the newly elected President of the United States - who also happens to be the nation's first female Commander in Chief - must navigate a demonic battle between good and evil.

And if that's not enough to deal with, the prospect of World War III also looms in the not-too-far distance.

This sounds like a whole ton of bonkers fun and a welcome creative riff on the incredibly tired Exorcism Movie formula, which Blumhouse itself has helped run into the ground.

That said, for some, it'll surely be too jarring to see an apparently competent POTUS in the White House.

But if Blumhouse's adaptation is a success, author May has already produced a ready-to-adapt sequel, The Exorcism at Buckingham Palace.
