20 Insane Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe Are Real
15. Ghost in the Cell
Ghost in the Cell is definitely one of those "we came up with the title first and worked back from there" movies - and with a title that great, why the hell not?
The latest joint from prolific Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar takes place in a prison notorious for housing dangerous inmates, where an invisible force begins killing them off and displaying their corpses in outrageously crude ways.
This in turn forces warring factions within the prison to team up with corrupt guards to try and find a way to survive the fast-escalating bloodshed.
For anyone content that they've seen everything that cinema has to offer, here's a film to categorically prove them wrong.
And to be clear, Anwar's film is a knowing riot - a splatter-filled black comedy which, if early reviews can be believed, cranks the bleak absurdity up to 11.
Give it a year before Hollywood announces a remake that inevitably goes nowhere.
