It sure seemed like Jack O'Connell was destined for an A-list breakout in the mid-2010s after delivering strong performances in a slew of high-profile films such as Starred Up, '71, and Unbroken, yet in the years that followed O'Connell's profile puzzlingly faded.

But he's enjoyed quite the comeback as of late per his highly lauded villain performances in two of last year's best horror films - Sinners and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.

And next up he'll appear in another beloved horror franchise, per his role in A Quiet Place Part III.

Set photos have revealed O'Connell to be playing an unnamed National Guard serviceman, but of course it's fair to assume that the role is plenty pivotal to the story - otherwise why cast an actor this great for a throwaway part?

Whether he's a hero or a villain, it'll be great to see O'Connell mixing it up in the apparent finale of this terrific sci-fi horror franchise.
