19. Taking WAY Too Long - The Batman Part II
The moment that The Batman released to critical and audience acclaim back in 2022, the question on everyone's lips was - "when are we getting the sequel?"
By January 2023, filmmaker Matt Reeves was writing the script just as an October 3, 2025 release date was pencilled in.
However, since then, The Batman Part II has been delayed a grand total of 3 times, most recently being pushed back from October 1, 2027 to February 18, 2028.
This was a result of numerous factors - namely industry strike action, Reeves' meticulous writing process, and a desire to allow for more post-production time once shooting is completed.
And while nobody wants Reeves to rush this sequel out, we're far past that at this point, considering that if the new release date sticks, it'll be just shy of six years between movies.
Considering that Christopher Nolan released his entire Dark Knight trilogy in barely seven years, you can't really blame fans for feeling twitchy about the wait.
We can only hope that audiences won't have lost patience and will still show up for it.
