20 Upcoming Movies Absolutely NOBODY Wants

Say it loudly, say it often - not every hit film needs to become an "IP" to be exploited until the heat death of the universe. 

Case in point, was anyone angling for a reboot of the smash hit 1992 erotic thriller Basic Instinct? 

Paul Verhoeven's gloriously trashy smut-fest absolutely had its time and place, though 2006's widely panned Basic Instinct 2 demonstrated just how little juice the concept had as an ongoing franchise.

And so it came as quite the surprise last July when Amazon MGM announced they were developing a reboot, and stranger still, original screenwriter Joe Eszterhas was coming back to pen the script, which is reportedly going to be "anti-woke," whatever the hell that means in relation to Basic Instinct.

Couple all this with the general dearth of horny cinema in recent years, and it's tough to see the point of a new Basic Instinct in 2026. Even original star Sharon Stone said she had no idea why anyone would bother.
