3. Mother Mary
One of the year's most intriguingly odd films is Mother Mary - a tough-to-categorise psychological drama from David Lowery (A Ghost Story), which even he himself sounded perplexed by during the editing process.
We know that the film revolves around the psychosexual affair between pop star Mary (Anne Hathaway) and fashion designer Sam (Michaela Coel), but even with a glossy trailer having been released, it feels like we know little more than that basic setup.
The marketing is clearly going all-in on vibes, insisting that Mother Mary is neither a ghost story nor a love story, yet its assemblage of eye-popping, context-devoid imagery doesn't offer much concrete information otherwise.
If test screening reports can be believed, this is going to be one of the year's most divisive films, with the bulk of Lowery's movie apparently being set in a single location as Mary and Sam work through their tortured past.
But as ever, we'll have to see for ourselves.
