4. Expendabelles
During the press tour for The Expendables 2 way back in 2012, it was announced that a female-centric spin-off entitled The Expendabelles was in the works, with the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, and even Meryl Streel being eyed for parts in the film.
The project never came to fruition, however, and with The Expendables brand dying a most undignified death with 2023's mega-flop Expend4bles, there seemed to be little chance of it ever being resurrected.
Yet this past May, it was announced that Expendabelles was indeed back on the docket, with the plot said to take place in the 1990s while centered around a group of elite female operatives.
No other information is available, least of all casting, and while there's absolutely a market for an ensemble team-up action flick starring some of the cinema's most kick-ass women, tethering it to the tired, withered Expendables branding does it no favours at all.
