Valentine's For Singles: 8 Movies That Prove That Alone Is The Way To Go

5. Derailed (2005)

Starred Actors Such As: Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston. Continuing with the theme of infidelity, Derailed is all about what happens when an affair goes wrong. One could argue most affairs will eventually lead to bad outcomes - including eternal Hell fire, if you happen to read the Bible and believe it as a historical document - but no one can really predicts what happens in this movie. The leading man, Charles Schine (Owen), is a Chicago advertising executive whose marriage is deteriorating. One day, while Charles is traveling on the train, he encounters an alluring woman named Lucinda Harris (Aniston), who is a married financial adviser. A mutual attraction develops, and the two begin meeting frequently, before, ultimately they decide to the leap, and end up in a seedy hotel room. But things get further complicated when an armed man bursts into the hotel room, beats Charles, and brutally rapes Lucinda. Charles and Lucinda agree not to report the crime, as they do not want their spouses to learn of the affair, and shortly after, Charles is blackmailed by the attacker, who threatens to kill his family, and basically it all gets a bit more complex from there. The Movie Says It Best. "Everybody cheats, Charles and you know what? Everybody gets over it." Doesn€™t that just brighten up your day? You€™re Better Off Alone, because if you look to films for life advice, apparently, there is no such thing as monogamy. So why to try and force it? But if you do really feel you need it in your life, how about a trip to your local animal rescue. There you€™re more likely to find a soul mate with endless dedicating.
