Valentine's For Singles: 8 Movies That Prove That Alone Is The Way To Go
4. The Break-Up (2006)
Starred Actors Such As: The reigning queen of dysfunctional couples Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn. Aniston once said that the movies that she chooses to make are a reflection of her personal life... Boy, that woman must have had some rough times. In The Break-Up she plays Brooke who meets her better half Gary (Vaughn) during a Chicago Cubs game. Everything is very sweet and romantic at this point, as they begin dating, eventually buying an apartment together, but soon enough, their relationship comes into a halt after numerous arguments about why can't you do this one little thing for me? It's not unreasonable to ask about housework after all, even if you should be more upset that your "better half" is actually Vince Vaughn. Since neither is willing to move out of their condo, they compromise by living as roommates; but, each begins acting out to provoke the other to give up their half of the home in increasingly elaborate ways. Unlike the typical rom-com, this film deals with what happens when happily ever after is no longer in play. The Movie Says It Best. "I don't feel you appreciate me. All I want is to know, is for you to show me that you care". You know who will always care? Your best friend and they will sometimes throw in a tequila shot and a hug as well. Youre Better Off Alone, because being passive-aggressive is much more aggressive on your soul, and not so passive on your nerves. Be more like a Clooney and less like an Aniston, that guy always has a smile on his face.
