2. Magical Powers?!

It might not be the case in the final film, but the trailer is definitely trying to suggest that Venom - or the symbiote or both - has some serious magical powers that he doesn't have in the comics.

At a couple of points in the trailer, it appears that Eddie Brock has Force push-like powers that allow him to scatter a room full of telemarketers (or scientists if you like) and flipping a van using only the power of his mind. That's all well and good if you're trying to channel the Stranger Things vibe to capture a bigger audience, but it's not Venom.

Hopefully, it's just misdirection and Venom's powers are limited to what he's capable of in the comics (super-strength, resistance to some super-powers, telepathy...), but this looks a little suspicious.
