It doesn't get that much focus, but the Life Foundation in Venom seems to be this almost all-powerful entity, capable of ruining peoples' lives and even waging war on the streets of San Fransisco without anyone really batting an eyelid.

Their main aim with the symbiotes is allegedly to find a cure for cancer, but it's later revealed that Carlton Drake is actually trying to find a way to garner real estate on other planets, as Earth is quickly becoming uninhabitable.

Though Carlton is killed off along with Riot during the climax, the evidence Eddie delivered to his former boss ensured that this company would never be able to continue, with its past crimes and true intentions revealed to the world. Consequently, they're probably not going to become the Oscorp of this universe any time soon, and seem to have paid for their radical science experiments.
