5. Rick - Strays
One of Vins first acting performances wasnt just in this film that very few have probably ever heard of, but also his very own directorial debut. It goes without saying that his directorial dreams died pretty quickly though. In Strays, Vin Diesel plays a drug dealer searching for a happier life, particularly away from crime. Its all meant to provide insight into Vins own personal upbringing but the film and Vin never succeed at doing anything engaging or memorable. Its also a pretty ambitious tasking for anyone that early into their career which potentially added to the mishandled execution. Regardless, it stands as forgettable but thankfully didnt kill Vins career right out of the gate. In retrospective though a lot of the truthful traits present in Vin's earlier works went on to influence both memorable and terrible future roles giving off a vibe of authenticity in his works. Vin's lived the real street life and now he makes bank portraying glorified and dangerously cool versions of it for the Hollywood cameras.
