Watchmen find it's Comedian, trade confirmation of full cast!

Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as The Comedian in the movie adaptation of Watchmen. This is the role Ron Perlman had been linked with the most but like all the roles in Watchmen, the eventual casting was a lot lower on the hollywood ladder. The Hollywood Reporter have now confirmed all the roles in the movie which we said were cast earlier in the week. That means Jackie Earle Haley, Patrick Wilson, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudrup, Malin Akerman and now Jeffrey Dean Morgan will 100% be in Watchmen. You know, I kinda dig the cast. Jackie Earle Haley and Matthew Goode are inspired choices for their respective roles. Patrick Wilson I enjoyed immensely in Little Children, and although I haven't seen too much of Billy Crudrup, Malin Akerman or Jeffrey Dean Morgan... they have the benefit of not carrying any cinematic baggage. Was it Zack Snyder's intention to go with mostly unknowns from day one? I don't think so, when you consider Tom Cruise, Jude Law and Keanu Reeves all were offered roles but this cast is what they should have aimed for at the beginning. Shooting begins in Vancouver this fall under the direction of 300 director Zack Snyder. Of course this movie needs a lot more character development and dramatic scenes than the Spartan flick and one think it needs to be is a hell of a lot slower... but the director has my seal of approval. But he surely knows Watchmen is completely different to 300?
