20 Upcoming Movies You Won't Believe Are Real
4. In Memoriam
Film concepts don't get much more hilariously unique than that of In Memoriam, a new black comedy from filmmaker Rob Burnett (The Fundamentals of Caring).
The film stars Marc Maron as Langston Stanfield, a terminally ill actor who, while staring down his own imminent demise, becomes obsessed with ensuring he gets included in the Oscars' In Memoriam segment.
It all certainly seems like a ripe fit for Maron's sardonic comedic sensibilities, and to sweeten the deal he's joined by one hell of a supporting cast, including Lily Gladstone, Judy Greer, Talia Ryder, Michael McKean, Justin Long, Alan Ruck, and Sharon Stone.
And if you're still not convinced that such a bewildering concept could actually get made into a movie, In Memoriam is already completed.
In fact it recently premiered at the Tribeca Festival, where it earned largely warm reviews for its affecting brand of dark comedy and especially Maron's performance, which many deemed a career-best.
