The new project from Thai filmmaker Banjong Pisanthanakun (The Medium, Shutter) offers up both a possession movie and a creature feature for the price of one.
Inherit follows a family whose impossibly youthful and beautiful grandmother, Woranart (Davika Hoorne), actually has a secret far beyond her skincare regime.
Woranart is actually possessed by a centipede spirit, which kills anyone who gets in its way as it seeks out a new host once its current body starts to decay.
And Woranart soon enough sets her sights on the family's youngest member, Oui (Baipor Thitiya Jirapornsilp).
The concept is terrific, the trailer looks absolutely mad, and Davika Hoorne seems to be having an absolute ball as the centipede-infused granny.
Though reviews from its recent premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival have been relatively mixed, critics have roundly praised Hoorne's show-stealing antagonist turn, which seems like it's reason enough to check this one out.
