Wes Craven: Every Movie Ranked Worst To Best
8. Red Eye
Like most Craven films we've looked at so far, he has a tendency to make something good, but not necessarily great - the musical feel good film Music of the Heart comes to mind as a solid but not so memorable attempt, for example - and Red Eye is the psychological thriller counterpart to that statement.
Red Eye is a perfectly serviceable and entertaining ride, depicting a hotel desk manager that becomes embroiled in political terrorism when a man attempts to blackmail her into helping him with his plot to blow up the deputary secretary of homeland security.
It's really a simple movie, mostly taking place on a plane, relying on the strength of its actors to carry tension rather than ludicrous set pieces - which works incredibly well.
If anything can be taken from this film, you'll have found a whole new use for a ballpoint pen you hadn't considered before.
