What The Avengers: Infinity War Cast Look Like In The Comics
12. Peter Quill
In the Comics:
Half human and half-Spartoi, Peter was raised on Earth for a time before some Badoon aliens killed his mother. He would eventually leave Earth and meet Yondu, joining his crew of Ravagers. He later meets and forms the new Guardians of the Galaxy.
Though not playing as big a part in defeating Thanos in the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline, he and his Guardians do end up facing Thanos in many stories afterward.
In the Film:
Forced to make a difficult choice in Infinity War, Quill promises to kill Gamora to keep Thanos from taking her, but is thwarted when Thanos uses the Reality Stone against them.
Afterwards, the Guardians meet Tony Stark's crew on Titan, eventually facing off against Thanos together. After a lengthy battle, Quill learns that Thanos sacrificed Gamora to obtain the Soul Stone, and his enraged reaction allows Thanos to escape his bonds. He, along with the rest of the Guardians, are turned to ash after Thanos's victory.
Since the first Guardians film, Chris Pratt has portrayed the MCU's Peter Quill. His appearance barely resembles his comics counterpart's, whose helmet and augmented suit look more like a uniform than his red jacket ensemble. The mask, however, is mostly the same.
