What The Avengers: Infinity War Cast Look Like In The Comics
4. Captain America
In the Comics:
Originally a propaganda character from World War II, Steve Rogers's Captain America has taken on a life of his own, being one of the Avengers's most iconic members and often paired with Iron Man as leader.
During the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, Cap is able to fight Thanos barehand, before Thanos restrains him and shatters his shield, striking him down with one blow.
In The Film:
Steve first appears in Infinity War to save Vision, bringing him to Wakanda and fighting the subsequent battle alongside Black Panther. Later, when Vision is again in danger from Corvus Glaive, Cap fights him off, helping Vision kill him.
When Thanos comes to take the Mind Stone, he attempts to stop him, struck down once before getting up again, briefly able to hold Thanos' hand open before being defeated.
He's one of the survivors of Thanos' culling, forced to watch his best friend and most of his allies fade to dust.
Since The First Avenger, he's been played by Chris Evans. His costume has evolved over the films, at first resembling his comics incarnation, but later becoming more streamlined. Infinity War sees him wearing a tattered version of his older suit, with the star ripped out.
