What The Avengers: Infinity War Cast Look Like In The Comics
23. Okoye
In the Comics:
As one of T'Challa's right hand warriors, Okoye is seen in most of his adventures, his most trusted of the Dora Milaje. Though she was not seen in the comics in years, she's recently returned in the new Black Panther title, trying to help rescue T'Challa's old flame, Asira, calling her beloved. Like most of the Dora, she is shaved and adorned with tattoos.
In the Film:
Standing alongside her king, Okoye is one of the heroes put in the spotlight after the success of Black Panther, fighting with her people in the battle for Wakanda after Proxima Midnight lays siege to the hidden country.
She eventually faces off with Thanos's greatest warrior alongside Black Widow, the two able to hold their own against Proxima Midnight's enhanced strength and combat prowess, before Scarlet Witch turns the tide and kills her using magic.
She's played by Danai Gurira as one of Black Panther's fan favourites and mainstay characters. Given that her role was limited in the comics up until recently, her appearance in the films is more detailed, her outfit and armour more prominent, than that of her comics counterpart. Both portrayals, however, share the shaved head and tattoos.
