What Tim Burton’s Batman Forever Would Have Looked Like

5. Marlon Wayans' Robin

Originally, Robin was intended to appear in Batman 1989 for Tim Burton and there are even storyboards dedicated to his origin sequence that sees the death of his parents in the circus, just as ended up happening in Batman Forever.

Then, Marlon Wayans was cast to play Robin in Batman Return but again Burton decided to leave him out because there were too many characters involved already. The director did intend to bring him in for Batman III though, but when he left, Joel Schumacher recast the character with Chris O'Donnell. Wayans might have been disappointed, but he still got paid, despite not shooting a minute of Batman footage.

A costume supposedly designed for Batman III did surface at one point, but it turned out to be an alternate for O'Donnell's Robin from Batman Forever, rather than one for Wayans, and the reality is that Wayans was going to wear a "grease monkey" mechanic's jumpsuit rather than a costume and would have been referred to as "The Kid."
