What Your Favourite Back To The Future Movie Says About You
2. Back To The Future Part II (1989)
The Movie: Part II picks up exactly where the first movie left off. Marty, having saved his own existence and returned to 1985, is swiftly taken away by the Doc some thirty years into the future to 2015 in the now flying Delorean to fix the future of his yet unborn offspring. Got that? Well, that sums up the first two minutes of the film, anyway. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie is much more complicated as we start dealing with parallel timelines, other selves, and more action in 1955. What It Says About You: This is the film for the real thinkers out there. Others may have accepted that Marty returned home to 1985 at the end of the first film to a thinner mother and a more successful father, but this film raises the thought that altering the past can create alternative time lines. Marty has in effect erased his original family from existence and if this is the film that appeals to you most you are bound to have bound to have dusted off your old chalk boards and tried to do the math on the many complications with time travel this film raises. We can also deduce that as a lover of part II you are quite the perfectionist, and are always after something better. You loved the first film, but you love this one more because the action steps directly back into the events of the first film and has another go at showing 1955. Of course, being a perfectionist isnt always a bad thing, but will lead to doing things the hard way. Not content with the successful effects the time travel in the first film had on the McFly family, the Doc drags Marty to 2015 to further interfere in his own personal timeline. The Doc could have left the McFlys well alone, resting on his laurels knowing that his invention had already improved the lives of that family. For some unknown reason, however, Doc Brown decided to further focus his attentions on the family of the same teenager. You have to question why he chose that over preventing wars or finding cures. By trying to get things too right the duo of Doc and Marty almost lost everything. It was a large gamble, which leads directly to the final point. You are the gambler. There isnt a person who loves this movie who hasnt wished for their own version of the sports almanac that will successfully predict the future of every upcoming sports event for the next fifty years. You want money, you want fame, you want power. And in this film Biff shows you how you can get it done. Whilst Part One may has shown that you will fight for love, part two shows you dont really have time for it. Unless your idea of love is the kind that can be cosmetically enhanced after being won by gunning down your love rival. Soundbite: We can either do this the easy way or the hard way... and I choose the hard way! Favourite Movies:The Butterfly Effect, A Fistful of Dollars
