What Your Favourite Batman Movie Says About You

6. The Dark Knight (2008)

The Dark KnightThe Movie: Christopher Nolan's universally-adored and game-changing blockbuster epic brought Batman more fans than ever before. Notable for Heath Ledger's gloriously insane and idiosyncratic turn as the Joker (he died before the film was released in theatres), Nolan pumped even more realism into the franchise and shot his movie with the crisp proportions of a Michael Mann flick. Unlike Begins and Rises, The Dark Knight is neither pulpy nor ridiculous, setting up a Gotham that broke free of its comic associations and brought Nolan attention the world over as a director to watch. What It Says About You: You take film quite seriously and consider yourself to be a bit of a movie buff. You've watched this one at least three times, and if anybody says anything negative about it, you've prepared reasons as to why they're definitely wrong. You downloaded the Hans Zimmer soundtrack a couple of weeks after the movie hit theaters and have it on your iPod. You listen to it on the way to work sometimes and make up cool scenarios in your head. You had a T-shirt with the Joker on it - or a poster of the movie on your wall - at some point over the last five years or so. You didn't know who Heath Ledger was until you saw this. Soundbite: "Ledger obviously went insane preparing for this role. And how could he not? I mean, it's all up there on the screen." Favourite Movies:Heat, Inception
