Inglourious Basterds: The Introvert
If Death Proof lovers are the loud ones, Inglourious Basterds fans fall at the opposite end of the spectrum. Though the film is ostensibly set in WWII, we are never shown any actual combat on the field; the film's real action is rather more subtle then that. With a few notable exceptions nearly all the film's characters have a secret agenda, motive or personality which living in wartime inhibits them from revealing. Many of the films most enduring moments are created when somebody's concealed agenda is noticed by an exterior character. Think the unforgettable opening scene where Landa suspects that the milk farmer is hiding Jews. Those who love Inglorious Bastards are naturally introverted, revelling in the film's subterfuge, lies and secret aliases.
