4. Black Widow

Black Widow might not have much in common with Peter Parker save for the Spider motif, but it's a pairing that shouldn't be dismissed out of hand. Natasha Romanoff has always been fond of a globe-trotting adventure (or several), and though the character will also be getting her own solo movie too, having her star in Spidey's next outing could make for a fun subversion of expectations.

The pair have crossed paths on countless occasions before in the comics, dating all the way back to when Natasha was working with Daredevil during the seventies. In the years since, chance encounters involving Widow and Spidey have only increased, with multiple stories in the suitably titled "Marvel Team-Up" having spotlighted the pair caught up in various schemes and scenarios.

It's a slightly left-field pick, especially since Natasha's fate is still to be determined ahead of the fourth Avengers. Her touted solo film could end up being a prequel, even if an appearance in Spider-Man would make a whole load of sense too.
