Eva Green has made a career out of playing characters who are simultaneously seductive and frightening. This persona is conducive with her immense talent and unique look. She could easily bring this signature energy to the role of Mystique, and make her feel important.
Mystique's blue body is a constant challenge for actors to remain visible under, and one element that can combat this is an actor's eyes. Green has always had a potent stare, her ability to convey meaning and intention purely through subtle glances are impressive. With that approach Green could bring a lot of purpose to the part, making the character feel compelling and relevant despite their overwhelming aesthetic.
In addition to the previous points, Eva Green would be a fantastic fit for a villainous turn in the MCU. Her career has been mostly built on these kind of roles and it would be logical for her largest project to share this energy.
