Why Avengers: Secret Wars Is Perfect For MCU Phase 4

3. It Doesn't Mean No To Origin Stories

One of the big issues with dropping fully formed X-Men and Fantastic Four teams into the MCU is the fact that it would negate potentially lucrative origin movies for both. And while the fact that we've had several of those for both teams over the past decade or so, there are still a lot of fans out there who would like to see the MCU version of them.

The good thing about a Secret Wars event and Marvel's new approach to making movies that don't follow the linear MCU timeline necessarily (just a Captain Marvel is a prequel, Black Widow might be and Ant-Man & The Wasp is actually set BEFORE Infinity War) is that we could still get those origin stories.

There's no reason the teams couldn't arrive in the MCU and then basically set up their own movies set before the Secret Wars event showing how they came to that point. And that would allow Marvel to capitalise on the properties as stand-alone franchises at the same time as having them involved in the big cross-over events that will no doubt follow.
