4. Never Run In A Straight Line
We saw this in Prometheus and it rears its ugly head in The Wolverine, too. What Im talking about is for movie characters to not grasp the fact that when being chased by something, running in a straight line down the middle is not the best course of action. In Prometheus, Meredith Vickers and the gang were running from a giant rolling ship. Had they run off to the side, they would have been fine. Instead, like a bunch of dumbasses, they all run in a straight line and Vickers gets squashed. In The Wolverine, Wolverine is running from ninjas who have positioned themselves on rooftops. They have a clear shot as he stupidly runs down the middle of the road, in plain view. When the threat is above you, the last thing you want to do is make it easy for them by running in a straight line in the middle of the road. But that is what Wolverine does. You have to question what was going through his mind, of course, because the ninjas use his stupidity against him and quickly bring him down. Will movie characters please stop running in straight lines?!
